About
Supernaturals
Supernaturals Modelling is co-founded by two internationally renowned Indigenous changemakers, Joleen Mitton and Patrick Shannon.
Through healthy and high-end cultural representation in the commercial and fashion world, Supernaturals' mission is to celebrate and make visible Indigenous peoples at a high level in media arts, culture, community, land-based wisdom and the global market.
Our goal as an organization is to uplift communities and emerging Indigenous talent through skills development, employment, and healing - while facilitating Indigenous-Ally relationships via collaboration, education and healthy representation at the highest level. Indigenous people are in high demand right now, and we want to be at the forefront of this new wave of cultural awareness.
The company's founders bring years of experience and expertise in the modelling industry, as well as a commitment to creating a more inclusive and diverse fashion industry. Their work has helped break down barriers and stereotypes while promoting greater understanding of Indigenous culture. With their focus on community building, cultural sensitivity, and protocols, Supernaturals Modelling is setting a new precedent within the industry, not just for Indigenous people, but for the fashion industry as a whole.
Supernaturals Modelling has had a significant impact on the fashion industry, with its models gracing the pages of top fashion magazines, walking the runway at major fashion events, and appearing in advertising campaigns for major brands. However, the company's impact goes beyond the fashion industry. By providing opportunities for models from Indigenous communities and elevating their profiles in the fashion world, Supernaturals Modelling is creating a platform that celebrates Indigenous culture and talent, breaking down barriers in the industry, and creating opportunities for a new generation of Indigenous models.
