Supernaturals is an Indigenous boutique modelling agency operating out of Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON that focuses on healthy, high-end representation. Our goal is to treat our team like a true community, with all the supports and understanding that can only come from fellow Indigenous people.

If you’re part of the Supernaturals team, we will provide mentorship and coaching, portfolio development, and support in accessing wellness resources.

We accept applications from all Indigenous backgrounds, we won’t demand a status card, but we definitely need to understand your connection to culture and community (which is different for every single person).

No matter what age, body type, sexual orientation, or nation you come from, Supernaturals is open to having you apply.

*Supernaturals is currently only taking on models age 18 and up and the model must submit themselves, not their parents.

Models typically need to be located within reasonable distance from a major urban centre like Vancouver, Toronto, or Montréal in order to be considered for auditions or regular work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Supernaturals is headquartered in Vancouver BC, with a team in Toronto, ON, and will expand to Canada’s major cities in the coming years. We do not currently represent outside of Canada, but follow our social media as we may expand to the United States in the future.
At this time, Supernaturals is currently focused on representing adult talent aged 18+ and will not accept applications from anyone who can not legally represent themselves.
Short answer, no. All applications MUST be submitted by the applicant themselves, and CANNOT be submitted by a friend or family member.
Supernaturals requires exclusivity for national modelling representation through year-long contracts.

Models are free to take on agents for non-competing industries like acting or music.

If the model is wishing to have representation with another agency in another region outside of Canada, Supernaturals is happy to act as a mother agency to work with outside companies to get the best opportunities for our team.

Unlike most agencies around the world, Supernaturals does not have a set height requirement as we believe in not only diversity of culture and look, but also size. Be aware that if one does not fit within the standard model range of 5’8”-6’2”, it may be more difficult to be booked for particular campaigns and fashion events, but we will do our best to support the right applicant, no matter the size.
Work in the fashion industry is never a guaranteed thing, and if a model is booked by a client, the agency will do our best to negotiate the best rate possible on a case-by-case basis.

Supernaturals take an industry low 15% administration fee on all successful bookings and pays directly to the model within one week of full payment from the client.
No, Supernaturals Modelling will never charge a model for becoming part of the agency, nor require paid portfolios to be developed in-house.

In fact, Supernaturals works with each model to build their portfolio at no additional cost with our in-house creative team.
Supernaturals aims to create a culture unlike any other agency, our goal is not just to get our models work, but to create a close-knit community of diverse Indigenous people that supports one-another culturally.

Agency founders Joleen Mitton and Patrick Shannon work closely with the team to find the best ways to support each team member, from skills building, to community integration, and cultural knowledge sharing.

Even though Supernaturals does the majority of our work remotely with clients, we still take every opportunity to bring the team together through internal events to better know and support everyone.
